Extensive consultations with Albertans have helped ensure new education legislation provides the best possible framework to support excellence in education in the province.

Parents now have access to additional information about school boards and charter schools in their communities.

More than $9 billion will be invested in Alberta’s education systems in Budget 2012 in the first year of a new three-year funding commitment for K-12 and post-secondary learning.

High school students will have greater opportunities to access trades and technology programs and post-secondary credits under a new approach to preparing teachers to specialize in skills training.
